THE CHALLENGE
“Duncan Was Challenged to Help Increase The Focus of The SLT’s Influencing Abilities To Drive Results”
Duncan was invited to deliver a 90-minute keynote to a group of 35 – 40 senior leaders with from across the world leading the Sodexo food business. After liaising with the planning team Duncan was tasked with tailoring a keynote that focused on improving the senior leadership’s team’s internal and external influencing skills, giving them a renewed focus on driving results and strategies to increase their agility within the organization.

Having understood the requirements, Duncan, as often arrived at the event several hours early to sit in some of the other speaker’s presentations to get a real feel for the underlying challenges that he could reference back to. This gave him the added benefit of really being able to add context to his content to make it a lot more relatable.
Duncan’s keynote involved some interactive experiments and some insights into influence and persuasion and he shared several models to help improve agility, influence and maximize growth. He wrapped this up with some fun, interactive mentalism demonstrations and a highly interactive Q and A to really give even more assistance to the team.
THE RESULT

The team increased their abilities to influence and persuade significantly more at the end of the keynote than they did at the start by repeating the initial experiment. This allowed them to really understand and cement some of the strategies Duncan shared. Many of them congratulated Duncan on his keynote and the impact it had on them and would have on their ability to move with greater agility in the forthcoming months. They were inspired by the bigger messages and have since gone on to grow their organization even further. Not only did they leave with notebooks full of actionable strategies to influence and persuade more effectively but were unified in driving for greater results.

With a range of nationalities across a spectrum of functions, my keynote placed extra weighting on the importance of collaboration to drive business growth. This supported previous internal speakers and the message they conveyed too. It was exciting to see so many people scribbling notes into their notebooks and an active Q an A session really enhanced the session.
