“Duncan delivered a 60 minute keynote to 20 of our Global Lead Partners from across the EMA region. Duncan kicked off the day which left Partners feeling energetic, excited and speechless linking all parts of his session back to a business perspective so the fundamentals of the messaging stayed relevant to our event. I am so grateful that Duncan took the time to be part of our day and I would recommend him to support on other initiatives as he understood our brief and delivered the ask. ”

THE CHALLENGE

“Duncan Was Challenged to unlock the influence and persuasion capabilities of some of the senior KPMG global leadership team.”

“We had been in contact a couple of years ago. If I am not mistaken I had seen you on stage with some of our colleagues from Nestlé when I worked there then.

We are hosting a leadership event for KPMG in London planned for September and I was wondering if we could have a chat to understand if you could deliver your keynote on influence, persuasion and collaboration to our team of global KPMG leads and if you could join us at our event too”.

DUNCAN’S SOLUTION

“Duncan begins all keynotes even before the keynote begins. This involves a couple of Zoom or Teams calls to understand what value he can really deliver to the audience. What are their challenges and what keeps them up at night.

Taking all of the requirements into account, Duncan set to work preparing his keynote to deliver. As with many calls, it’s always beneficial to understand not only if Duncan is the right fit for the client but if the client if the right fit for Duncan. He aims to build any keynote off the back of a relationship so that you gte more than you originally expected and can support you even afterthe applause at the end of his keynote has died down.

The event’s team wanted a keynote that was fun, and interactive but would enable the team to apply and employ the strategies he shared in their own teams to win more clients, get them to spend more money and return more often. The strategies he shared are being used by some of the world’s leading organizations and are underpinned by behavioral science so the KPMG team could feel confident in applying the strategies.

Duncan also arrived early to enjoy breakfast and networking to understand any additional challenges and really to get a feel for his audience so he could build a connection even before he walks on stage. All of the delegates received a copy to support the keynote.

THE RESULT

“The keynote was extremely well received with a standing ovation speaking volumes of the quality delivered.”

The team were quickly into the next keynote session but feedback after the event was incredible and Duncan received a number of emails and Linkedin messages expressing gratitude, and enthusiasm. The feedback from Sadie at the top of the page supports this and the team left with notes scribbled over their copy of my Effective Influence book as well as their own notepads. Duncan’s support for delegates even after the event always continues and he regularly fields emails and messages to help support any transformational change or learning that the delegates may have.

The keynote and mentalism demonstrations were also lots of fun and you can see a little snippet of one of the routines on Duncan’s Instagram page and the kind of reactions they garner.

THOUGHTS FROM DUNCAN

“It’s  great when a client has seen you before but I feel an even greater need to overdeliver to reinforce the fact that their enjoyment of my keynote was not just a one off.”

This was a room full of some of the most senior KPMG managers from around the world so it was great to engage with them. It’s always fun when there is an openness to the audience and the event team are so supportive in the execution of the event. It was fun to mingle with some of the delegates over breakfast at the start and always breaks the ice early on to make the keynote much more rewarding.
