Accor is Europe's Leading Hotel Chain with 5,300 locations in over 110 countries and an annual Income of 85 Million Euros.

THE CHALLENGE
“The Vice President of the Accor Hotel Group approached Duncan with the challenge to inspire and motivate the senior HR team over a period of great change.”
Accor was gathering the whole HR department from the Northern Europe region of Accor (hospitality company) and consists of 55 people from 11 countries.
It was Accor’s first meeting since the new region was created and the last meeting from October where the region will be merged with Southern Europe. Duncan was asked to craft and special keynote as a reward for their very hard work over the last 2 years. Thus it had to be inspirational with a focus on giving hope and motivation. Duncan was also asked to include the “mentalism” elements the team of directors had seen his the videos.
DUNCAN’S SOLUTION
“Duncan’s speech are often described as inspiring, entertaining and full of practical insights on how to influence and persuade. This had to be extra special.”
Duncan spent some time with the events team understanding the group and what would be a perfect fit for them. He delivered a keynote that challenged their perspectives on ‘change’ and shared some strategies and techniques as to how they could leverage this period of change to their advantage. Duncan weaved in some fun parts of his mentalism and incorporated a fun q and a at the end to leave the team feeling refreshed, energized, and excited to embrace the next step in their career within Accor.
THE RESULT
“The team were left with open mouths and inspired to embrace change. Duncan also weave in some interactive experiments for them all to take part in and shared content to apply in these experiments.”
The result of the above strategies, helped them to embrace change as both a constant and an opportunity. Duncan also equipped them with skills that they could take forward to their new teams to bring even further success to their leadership. Alongside this, then the team had lots of fun which was a key element asked of Duncan within the brief.
THOUGHTS FROM DUNCAN
“This was my first time speaking in the beautiful city of Barcelona and the group was really fun. The group was a wholly international audience and look forward to working with them again.”
It can sometimes be challenging to inspire delegates who are going through periods of change but I believe if you set the tone and extend an arm of empathy to help them understand that we are all part of the change in the world together, keynotes like this can be really good fun as this was. Staying in the hotel owned by the company you are representing is always fun too.
