Yes, I know what real looks and feels like
It stings! and haunts me sometimes
Never tired of pointing accusing fingers
Causing great disquiet in my soul
And leaving me with shame,
Anger, guilt, regret and driving me to the edge of despair
That, because I failed to see the beauty of my scars
Beauty? What beauty could there be?
There is beauty in the scars; look again!
Yes, they are real
But you’ve failed to notice their beauty
The truth in them, that is
Truth: your scars are memories of God’s hope
God’s hope and optimism for you
They speak of the triumph of grace
That your wounds,
However deep they be, were unable to undo your fundamental good
Because there’s more to you than those wounds
Your scars are beautiful If you ever are in doubt of that
Simply look to heaven
There, seated at the Father’s right hand
Is One most beloved
Whose scars the Father loves to behold

He got everyone listening and laughing and then hit us with the big, important things. I know I was completely captured." READ MORE...
